So I moustache you a question….. where did it all begin?

It seems that there has been somewhat of a Moustache Renaissance over the last decade. Yet sadly (or not!!) these hairy facial adornments only seem to stick around for the 30 days of November….or `Movember`. In fact the last time moustaches were truly fashionable was in the 1980`s. Who could forget Freddy Mercury`s iconic moustache, Hulk Hogan`s bleached `Horseshoe`, Burt Reynold`s Wonderful Whiskers, or the magnificence of Magnum PI`s classic `Chevron`!! Whether you or your partner has one, wants one or you wish they would all just disappear, there is no denying that the mighty Mo has made a comeback. So what is all this fuss about and where did it all begin?

The idea for Movember came about way back in 2003, after a couple of Aussie mates were discussing the comeback of fashion trends. Why no comeback of the Moustache? They both felt that it was about time for Mo revival and so they decided to see who could grow the best Moustache (from a clean shaven face) for one whole month….that month being November. No money was involved and in that first year 30 Mo Bro`s (that`s what you call the particpants) took part. Since that first year, the straggly whiskers of an idea have developed into a truly global movement, Movember!!!……an event running for the whole month of November when Mo Bro`s grow a Moustache to raise funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer aswell as men`s mental health.
